New For those of you using my slide-show or thumbnail software, my content-management-software now comes with an easy to use graphical photo manager. It makes the job of keeping your images up-to-date a breeze!
+Learn More About The Content-Management-Software
+Introduction

This web application has universal appeal to web site owners. It allows you to log-in to any page on your site (with just a web browser) and edit the content! It is both Browser and Platform Independent which means it works just as easily and seamlessly on Mac-Safari as it will on Windows Internet-Explorer or AOL.
It's purpose is to allow you, the site owner, the ability to easily edit your content. Because you will have direct & immediate control over your site, you can make sure it is always current and accurate! You can: change prices, add/remove text, fix typos, maintain testimonials, change or add photos, run a blog and more...
I wrote this software in C# & AJAX and I know it's inner workings intimately. This allows me to customize it for each of my clients on a case by case basis to fit their specific business needs.
+How does it work?

It works by exposing the HTML source for each page in an editable text box (as presented in this demo). This means it's capabilities are limited only by your own HTML web design & graphic skills. Whatever you want to do is possible, providing that you know how! You can find hundreds of books on HTML web authoring & image editing. That being said, most of my clients using it do not desire nor have the time to learn all about HTML & Computer Graphics. They use it first and foremost to maintain and edit the existing text content on their site. However, my more ambitious computer-savvy clients know how to swap/add images, add/remove entire sections of pages, maintain their e-commerce inventory and more.
+Does it offer additional capabilities beyond what's presented in this demo?
Yes, this demo is a simplified version of an actual real-life working page which offers the following additional features & capabilities:
- In addition to the Publish-HTML Button there are several others; they are:
- Reset is helpful it you make edit(s) but then changed your mind or you just want to start over! The content in the text-box will revert back to original start-up values since you last published. It works like “edit-undo” in a traditional desktop application.
- Preveiw allows you to view and inspect your changes prior to publishing.
- Restore is the ultimate "safety net" because it allows you to revert to an earlier version of the page (go back in time) ...Remember that it gives you the ability to easily edit any page at any time. However, with this new fire-power comes the ability to also "shoot yourself in the foot" and ruin a page so that it no longer displays and/or functions correctly! If you make a serious mistake, which you realized after you published, you can use "Restore" to go back to a prior known working version.
- <br/> Auto-inserts the common line-break HTML tag at the cursor position.
- <B> Auto-inserts the bold HTML tag at the cursor position.
- <I> Auto-inserts the italic HTML tag at the cursor position.
- It is also capable of uploading image files (or any type of file you desire) from your computer. This means you do not need to purchase a FTP (File Transfer) program.
- It is also capable of editing an additional external "include" file. For those of you running my e-commerce software and/or slide-show, you know that this data is stored in an external "include" file. This include-file can be exposed in a text-box just like the HTML text box in seen in this demo. This text-box will have it's own set of buttons exactly as described above.
+Does it support collaboration?

Yes, it can be best explained with an "extreme" example. Imagine you are the company owner on a business trip from L.A. to New York with a layover in Chicago:
- Before you leave you update the site.
- While in flight from L.A. to Chicago, an employee back at the office updates the site.
- You arrive in Chicago and go to an Internet Cafe at the airport. You log into the site again and update it using their Windows XP computers running Internet Explorer.
- You get back on the plane to New York and while in flight, another employee back at the office updates the site again.
- You arrive in New York and go to an Internet Cafe at the airport. This time you notice their computers are Macintosh/Safari Browser ...Not a problem, you log in to your site and update it!
In summary, the final version of the site (after the owner updates it from New York) incorporates all prior updates, not one of them has been overwritten or lost! This extreme example illustrates an important point. That is, each of the successive updates automatically incorporates all prior updates no matter when or who did them.
+What is required to use this software?
This is a bona fide web application meaning that all you need is a web browser (such as Internet Explorer, FireFox, AOL or Safari). Nothing else is required: You don't need a FTP (File Transfer) program or a text editor, and you do not need to install any software on your computer. Your site is available for editing 24/7, and from any computer, with any browser, on any operating system, anywhere in the world!
+Can I use it to improve my search engine rankings?
Yes, it can help you improve your rankings because:
- It allows you to easily keep your content fresh, and most search engines reward sites that are updated frequently by ranking them higher.
- You will have direct control over your content. This means you can insert, edit and adjust key search phrases within your text.
+I know a little HTML and I want to be able to "jazz" up my content. Does it support HTML?
Knowledge of HTML is not required. However, if you know a little, you can insert HTML tags right into the text box. This will allow you to enhance the page with bold and/or italic typeface, images, foreground/background colors or whatever you dream and are capable of!
Actually, even in this simple demo you will see (look in the edit window) one of the most common HTML tags in use: "<br/>". These tags are responsible for creating line-breaks in the HTML document, without them, the paragraphs would run together.
+What type of server is required?
My Content-Management-Software runs on any Windows Server supporting the ASP.NET framework. These servers are common, so it will be easy to find a Host. If you already have a site, you may already be hosted on such a server.
+How much do you charge for it?

For my clients I do not charge a fee for the software, I charge for time it takes me to install it on your site. As a rule of thumb, the simpler your site, the easier it will be to install. The exact amount of time it takes me to install it on your site is subject to:
- The complexity of your site. It will take longer for me to install it on sites using e-commerce, data-base driven content, slide-shows, and other complex web applications.
- The size of your site. The bigger your site, the longer it will take me to install it.
- Your server. It runs on windows servers only. If you are not on a windows server I will have to move you to one - this takes additional time.
If you are not my client, I charge an up-front fee for the software plus the time it takes me to install it on your site.
+Do you lose work if your clients are able to edit their web sites themselves?
I suppose so but I consider it a win-win situation, here's why: I love developing and creating new web sites, software and other applications. Upon completion of a site, I'm most happy to pass the job of daily maintenance onto my willing clients. That being said, I will and do perform on-going maintenance for my clients that prefer to have me do so.
